U.S. Intercepts Iranian Missiles, Red Cross Declares Blood Crisis, Saginaw Road Work Continues

A period of relative calm in the Middle East has come to an end as the U.S. military says it successfully intercepted a barrage of missiles fired by Iran at American troops in Jordan.

The attack comes after a five-day pause in the war and coincides with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the White House.

Red Cross Declares National Blood Crisis

The American Red Cross has declared a national blood crisis and is urgently asking people to donate.

The organization says it is facing a shortage of roughly 3,500 blood donations each week, a situation that is also affecting hospitals here in Mid-Michigan.

Those interested in donating can schedule an appointment through the American Red Cross.

Tittabawassee Road Repairs Move to Phase Two

Drivers in Saginaw County are seeing progress on repairs along Tittabawassee Road.

The first phase of work, stretching from Bay Road through Cardinal Square Boulevard, has been completed.

The second phase is expected to begin soon and is estimated to take approximately two weeks to finish.

Michigan State Police Hiring Event in Flint

The Michigan State Police will host a one-stop Employment Day hiring event Saturday at the Michigan School for the Deaf in Flint.

The event gives prospective applicants an opportunity to apply for upcoming trooper and motor carrier officer recruit schools.

Registration is limited to the first 100 attendees.

Detroit shut out the Baltimore Orioles 14-0 and became just the 22nd team in Major League Baseball history to score in every inning.
